Advanced Fibre Optic Sensing Solutions for Power Cables & Substations

Within your utility and substation, Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) and Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) Systems provide efficient condition monitoring and protection for Gas-Insulated Switchgear (GIS), transformers, busbar hotspots, cable trays, and ducts. For overhead power lines, DAS uses existing fibre-optic cables to detect tampering, preventing theft and sabotage across transmission and distribution networks, including cables and structural elements.

For underground cables, DTS provides complete thermal profiling, accurately locating hot spots, faults, and potential failure causes. The RTTR system precisely models the thermal environment and cable conductor, for safe capacity management. DAS prevents Third-Party Interference, malicious tampering, and accidental construction damage, while monitoring and evaluating partial discharge and other vibration conditions.
